After the first beta weekend there are some change requests.

The first beta weekend of Diablo 4 is almost over and many players have explored every corner of the Shattered Peaks, trying different builds and slaying numerous demons. While there is much praise from the community, now too some, sometimes urgent, change requests expressed, which met with a lot of encouragement.

Lawsuit against Activision Blizzard

Activision Blizzard is currently facing a lawsuit alleging sexism and unequal treatment of female employees. If the grievances play a role in your purchase decision, we have summarized all the information on the sexism lawsuit in a detailed article for you. You can read our attitude and consequences to the processes in a leading article on the Blizzard scandal by GameStar editor-in-chief Heiko Klinge.

1. More variety in dungeons

Probably the biggest point of criticism so far repeatedly discussed was, are the dungeons. The current system doesn’t offer enough variety for many players: In each dungeon, it’s about finding a locked door to the boss room and then finding keys or objects that can be used to open it. The key search often degenerates into a lot of legwork. Fans therefore fear that the dungeons that are important for the endgame will eventually become quite boring.

Reddit-User HotcupGG suggests, for example, that after finding the last key, a teleportation portal opens to the door, or the dungeons use more verticality and then let us climb down from the room with the key to the door.

2. A single player mode

Not all players are enthusiastic about the new shared world either. For some, the involuntary interaction ruins the atmosphere and immersion, while others find the gameplay disturbing. For example, a user of the Blizzard forums describes that he sometimes just wants to do an event alone without someone else suddenly destroying all opponents in one fell swoop. Fabiano would also like to escape the constraints of the shared world:

3. An overlay map

One of Reddit beta posts with the most upvotes suggests a feature found in other action role-playing games and Diablo 2, called an overlay map. This allows us to make the map semi-transparent while exploring, making it easy to maneuver to the location we’re looking for while not missing any potential action.

4. A dedicated ultimate skill slot

Ultimate abilities are unlocked quite late in the beta. They are particularly strong, but have a long cooldown of often around a minute. Despite their special status, however, they must be equipped in one of the four ability slots.

This is a decision that many players do not understand. This leaves a slot unused for most of the time, and it’s debatable whether equipping an ultimate is even worth it.

5. A dedicated gems tab

We currently throw gems into our inventory for armor and weapons. Aspects, on the other hand, have their own slot. This inventory design also causes a lot of misunderstanding. We don’t find the aspects relevant to the inventory in the world and in the dungeons, but usually extract them from the craftsman and build them directly into the desired item.

Gems, on the other hand, are dropped in heaps from defeated monsters and clutter up our inventory until we use them in a suitable item. Therefore, many players would like a separate inventory tab for the colorful stones.

6. Easier Barbarians?

The question of class balance is controversial. For many players, the barbarian currently seems to feel weaker than the sorceress and hunter. In boss fights in particular, it is difficult to assert oneself because, unlike other classes, you cannot keep your distance from the boss. So it is much more difficult to dodge his attacks.

While many fans agree with this point of view, there are also some who disagree that all you have to do is find the right build. It is also said that the barbarian only becomes really strong with higher levels.
