DOOM Eternal will not have microtransactions, or at least it will not have those that affect gameplay or progression. The id Software game, which It will go on sale next March 20, is one of the most anticipated of the beginning of 2020 and has been benefited by all the delays produced around it, although sacrificing its crunch-based developers.
Recently it was learned that DOOM Eternal would have in-game purchases, so some players have been pissed off. Hugo Martin, its creative director, has answered one of those fans via Facebook, as they collect in Dualshockers.
«Eternal is a $ 60 game, not a free game or a mobile game – we are giving you a complete storeless experience as you expected. Unlocking skins with XP is part of the experience if you care about those things, or you can completely ignore them »says Hugo.
XP is the currency with which we can buy items in DOOM Eternal, but Martin says that these will only be cosmetic and that will not influence any aspect of the pure and hard gameplay. We rarely see a game that comes out without microtransactions of any kind. Everyone has some, whether aesthetic or progress, so earning those rewards playing is usually something that is far, far behind.
