It has long been known that Netflix has chosen the indie hit Cuphead as the next game brand to be implemented in series form on the streaming service. There is now a specific start date for this.
If you stick with the humorous indie hit Cuphead, you won’t have to wait long for the new Netflix series to take off. This is called “The Cuphead Show” and, according to today’s announcement, will now be available on the streaming service from February 18, 2022.
The first season consists of 12 episodes, each lasting 12 minutes. Netflix takes up the adventures of protagonist Cuphead and his cautious brother Mugman. The two roam their homeworld, the Inkwell Isles, looking for fun and adventure.
On their journey, the two are confronted with all sorts of nostalgic scenes and gags in the comedy series. They also meet their nemesis, the devil himself.
The series is executive produced by CJ Kettler; Assisting him are original Cuphead creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer. Netflix Animation is producing, with Emmy and Annie Award winner Dave Wasson (“Mickey Mouse Shorts”) serving as producer; Cosmo Segurson (“Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling”) also works there as a co-producer.
