It seems that fans of Cyberpunk 2077 love a good board game. In fact, they love it so much that a new official game from CD Projekt and Go On Board — creatively called Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game — has not only surpassed its $100,000 crowdfunding goal that launched today, but has also raised more than 10 times that amount.

As many CD Projekt developers have pointed out, it took the board game just 10 minutes and 4 seconds to raise $100,000, which is pretty impressive, and as of this writing, the total has reached $1,017,379.

That’s more than 1,000% of the funding goal – a concept that makes my head spin a bit – and there are only 6,300 backers. So why are these backers so keen to invest?

Well, here’s the game’s description: “It brings the Cyberpunk 2077 experience to life and showcases key characters from the video game, including V, Judy, Panam, and Jackie.” “This cooperative story-driven tactical action game allows 1-4 players to explore ‘What If?’ scenarios that alter key events in the video game and stretch out a new story across 13 different missions,” it adds.

The crowdfunding campaign, which was run through Gamefound, also came with a host of extra goodies and rewards that would unlock if certain stretch goals were met, including a new game mode, additional weapons, some miniatures, and a new mission. Suffice to say, all of these were achieved.

If you’re curious, there are two versions of the game that can be purchased/subscribed, the standard edition for $79 and the deluxe edition for $139, which comes with some extra features.
