The Day Before: Statement on X: “It’s all just a hate campaign”

campaign, day, Hate, statement

As if the events surrounding The Day Before weren’t already dubious enough, a statement from Fntastic has now appeared on X in which everything is described as a misinformation campaign. Yes, exactly …

It’s getting more and more absurd. After the servers of The Day Before were switched off yesterday, the development studio was apparently closed and reports emerged about a new mobile game from the two Fntastic bosses with a new studio, there is now a new statement from Fntastic via X/Twitter, which is called official.

The content is quite outrageous considering the events and the game released. “Recently, a lot of misinformation from supposedly anonymous sources has appeared on the Internet. Fntastic is providing an official response to these statements,” it says at the start.

The statements in the statement seem bizarre. “We have implemented everything that was shown in the trailers,” it says, “from improvements to the houses to a detailed world to off-road vehicles. We only disabled a few minor features, like parkour, due to bugs, but we planned to include them in the full version”. The studio also emphasizes that the “negative bias of certain bloggers who make money from hate has influenced the perception of the game” and that this, rather than the quality of The Day Before’s release, led to the studio’s closure.

“By the way,” it continues, “after sales closed, many people wrote to us saying that bloggers had deceived them and that they liked the game and asked for access. We also heard that petitions to continue development were launched and on On the black market, the price of the game exceeded $200, and some even started creating their own mods”.

We are grateful to all email senders who expressed their support and appealed not to give up and keep working,” the statement concluded. “We encourage you to subscribe to our social networks to find out how it goes on.”

Meanwhile, there is also a community note under the tweet (which, by the way, has since been deleted, but has now been recreated): “This was reposted to circumvent the community’s note in the last post. The claim that the finished product featured only “minor changes” from the original release trailer is a blatant lie, as this video proves.”

So in short: it’s everyone’s fault except Fntastic that The Day Before failed. So it looks like the story of Fntastic and The Day Before is far from over… Oh boy.
