Hailed by gamers in search of a challenge (and next-generation exclusives), Returnal will undoubtedly have marked 2021 with its sadistic seal. And because suffering is sometimes good, the developers could definitely extend the adventure.
Would Sony officials want to investigate the formula? A few months after their acquisition and integration into PlayStation Studios, it seems that the Finns at Housemarque are at work in what would be an extension of Selene’s mishap loop. So back to return?
Like a helmet with spikes
Without warning, Housemarque just posted a visual, to say the least, enigmatic image that hasn’t failed to pique the interest of gamers looking for a challenge:
For those who would have distanced themselves from Returnal, it should be noted that Atropos is the name of the planet on which the action takes place, but also denotes the famous Lepidoptera with a skull, which is represented by the poster of the silence of the Lambs
The problem is that this stone, which in SoulCalibur is almost reminiscent of Nightmare’s helmet, does not appear in the Returnal campaign, so we can rightly wonder what the developers are up to. It is an understatement to say that Housemarque was already careful to maintain its PS5 exclusivity, because after an update that was supposed to correct a few bugs and rebalance the gameplay proposed in June, last month’s version 2.0 finally offered players that Backup system that was required to body and cry from the release of the game.
To envision a family DLC already in the making, there is only one more step we may or may not leave to you in the comments below. We’ll of course invite players who have already completed Returnal not to reveal the end of the game, even if it likely raises a lot of “after” questions. Thank you.
