Howling Tides developer Kuro Games has again apologized for the game’s rocky launch, saying it was “frustrated” that the game “failed to deliver a high-quality gaming experience.”
Since its release, Howling Tides has had some issues on both mobile and PC, with a plethora of performance issues and bugs in the game causing all sorts of fun and frustrating issues with the game. Kuro Games did outline some of the issues in the game, promising that future updates will allow players to skip more cutscenes, etc., but the game still has some issues. In a lengthy blog post published today, Kuro Games outlined the current issues with the game and what it plans to address in future updates, and apologized for the current state of the game.

“Since the official release of Howling Tides, we have received a lot of valuable feedback and suggestions through social media and in-game surveys,” the post reads. “We deeply apologize for the shortcomings and problems in Howling Tides, which is the first game we independently developed at Kuro Games and published globally. We understand that this has affected your gaming experience, and we are working hard to improve the gaming experience for players who love this game. We have been optimizing and iterating on the current 1.0 version, and the development of subsequent version updates is also in progress.”
First, there are issues with Echo development. “We are aware of widespread community concern that the current Echo upgrade experience is too dry, and that the game lacks a Waveplates storage system.” Plans to address this include a limited-time Echo material double earnings event in the current version of the game called Chord Cleansing, a 1.1 update tweaking the progression system to reduce the Shell Credit cost of Echo development, removing the Tacet Field reward cutscene, increasing the yield of Echos and Echo development materials, and introducing a Waveplates storage system in a future update.
The post then goes on to say that ever since “Howling Tides was officially released globally, we have been frustrated by our inability to provide a high-quality gaming experience for all wanderers. We understand that continuously releasing better versions and content is our goal and mission, and we will always strive to stick to it.” You can read more about the update plans in the blog post here.
