The Division 2: How the game starts its sixth year today

Division, game, sixth, starts, Today, Year

Who would have thought. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is now entering its sixth year, is getting another season and even new story content is on the way.

Those who are said to be dead live longer. After it looked for a while as if Ubisoft had no more content in the pipeline for the third-person shooter, the game has finally pulled itself together and is apparently attracting enough fans for further seasons. Today, the first season of the sixth year starts under the name First Rogue and Ubisoft has a lot in store for Year 6.

At yesterday’s Forward, Ubisoft explained in more detail what we can expect in the coming months and the three planned seasons. The most exciting statement: The Division 2 is getting new story content. This is supposed to revolve around Division agents who are sent out to track down Agent Kelso. You will also continue to hunt for Aaron Keener and try to figure out his motives. The new story will apparently come into play in the form of a story DLC between Seasons 2 and 3.

Furthermore, the need to own the Warlords of New York expansion to reach the level 40 cap will be removed, opening up a whole repertoire of game content for those who don’t own the DLC. The game will also receive a new progression system for endgame and seasonal progression.

In the second season, the system will be completed with Seasons 2.0. The progression system will then allow you to create and play seasonal characters so that you can try out different playstyles and builds. Seasonal characters start at level 1 and can be fully upgraded, so it’s apparently a similar system to the current one in Diablo IV.

In addition, the Manhunt system, in which you could previously hunt high-ranking targets as part of the seasons, is to be revised. There will be new scouts every week who will send you on corresponding missions. There will also be a new difficulty level for certain mission types called “Master”, designed for four-man teams.

If you want to take a look at how The Division 2 plays now and what the new season looks like, you can do so for free during a free weekend from June 13th to 17th.
