On the occasion of the announcement of current business figures, Ubisoft dared to look into the future again and, in the case of two potential top hits, rather bad news for the fans.
The developer and publisher have now communicated the postponement of two titles: Both Tom Clancy’s The Division: Heartland and the remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time cannot meet the originally planned and communicated release time windows.
In both cases, a publication would have been planned for Ubisoft in the current financial year, which will last until March 2022. But now nothing will come of it. Instead, both titles are now to be published in the coming financial year. The release time window therefore extends from April 2022 to March 2023 in both cases; no more specific information was given at first.
In the end, this announcement is not entirely surprising, considering that there has been nothing to watch from either title for a long time. These were also missing at E3 2021, for example, and were not shown.
The Division: Heartland is a standalone free-to-play survival game set in the universe of The Division. The development is led by Red Storm Entertainment, which at least contributed to the two previous division main parts.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was announced in September 2020 and should actually be released in January 2021. This was later postponed until March 2021 and then finally another without a specific time. The remake has now been postponed three times.
