Dune: Spice Wars
The strategy game overwhelms us in a pleasant way
That’s what the Dune: Spice Wars roadmap promises
First of all: The following list of updates is not set in stone. As the developers at Funcom and Shiro Games state that they always want to incorporate player feedback into the development, plans may change in the future. So far, the roadmap includes the following innovations:
- Multiplayer-Modus: Up to four players should be able to play Dune: Spice Wars with or against each other. This function, which is not least important for 4X games, is scheduled to appear in summer 2022.
- New Faction: In addition to the big houses Atreides and Harkonnen as well as the Fremen and the smugglers, a fifth faction is also scheduled to arrive in summer 2022. It has not yet been revealed who it is.
- Air & Sand: This update is intended to make advanced technology such as spaceports and spaceships available in Dune: Spice Wars. There is no date for this yet.
- Heroes of Dune: Council members (councillors) have so far only had a passive function. With this update you should be able to use them actively on Arrakis either as double and special agents or even as powerful hero units. The developers have not yet given a date for this innovation either.
Apart from that, Funcom and Shiro are planning further updates, which have not yet been examined in more detail in the roadmap. Either way, things are set to change on the Spice planet Arrakis in the future.
