Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree gave FromSoft’s masochists a whole bunch of new big bosses to stomp on and then get stomped on themselves, so naturally, the announcement of the DLC quickly led to calls for the game to build a system to add some more accessible boss fight rematches next time around.
To be fair, unless you’re the kind of freak who chooses to keep a special DLC save stashed away for dance pads or saxophone challenges, it’s a bit difficult to group a bunch of bosses together so you can kill them again in quick succession. Unless you’re willing to help others in the manner of Let Me Solo Her, there’s probably at least some commuting involved.

As a result, Elden Ringers who have already completed the DLC have made a post on Reddit, begging FromSoftware to at least surprise them with one more thing before potentially moving on to the next content on the menu.
“Please give us the option to fight old bosses and tough enemies in the Arena again,” reads the sweet little letter to Miyazaki and his colleagues. “They don’t need to drop their usual loot. Runes and other rare but minor items, such as Larva Tears, can be rewards. FromSoftware, please make this your last precious gift to us before you put Elden Ring on your shelf of timeless classics from the past.”
After showing off their outstanding manners, the poster added: “This would be a very welcome addition and would extend the life of the game. Also, they might be able to add new future bosses later on. Maybe they could even port over old bosses from previous games as well.”
Naturally, they have a lot of support from players who are eager for a system like this, whether it’s similar to Sekiro’s Reflections of Power or Dark Souls 2’s Bonfire Practitioners, or looks different than either of them.
Some are even willing to forgo any reward for taking down a boss again, just to have some fun, though they still wish the game would refund the consumables consumed in those fights. So, in this sea of charmingly mild desperation to kill more stuff, there’s at least a bit of pragmatic frugality.
