Since Sony seems to be deaf to fans’ pleas, they are taking matters into their own hands to develop a proper Bloodborne remaster.
Nine years after its exclusive PS4 release, Bloodborne seems doomed to eternal night in Sony’s eyes. FromSoftware wouldn’t be opposed to the idea of returning to that eldritch universe it loves so much, but unfortunately its hands seem tied. Regardless, fans have taken it upon themselves to create their own version of a remaster worthy of the name.
Thanks to the fans, Bloodborne has been updated
This is at least the case for Fromsoftserve, a modder known for the games of the talented and renowned Japanese studio. In fact, he has notably worked on remasters of Dark Souls 1 and 3, as well as Sekiro. He has also created mods to improve the performance of Elden Ring and its Shadow of the World Tree DLC. It remained to add the very popular Bloodborne, which is more difficult to remaster due to its exclusivity on PS4.
To do this, Fromsoftserve has to use the still early ShadPS4 emulator. It is still in its infancy. However, it is capable of running Dark Souls Remastered, which uses the same engine as Bloodborne. The modder therefore intends to take advantage of the advances made by this PS4 emulator to improve the title at all levels: more detailed textures, dynamic shadows, improved reflections and more, and all this a priori (finally) at 60 FPS.
Although the road to this unofficial Bloodborne remaster promises to be arduous and long, Fromsoftverse has shared a first video to ease the wait for fans. There we can see a first sketch of what the Yarnham Center could offer so far. We wish him courage in this virtuous hunt.
