Marvel showed off some test footage for upcoming films at its Hall H Comic-Con booth and revealed another new title for the Fantastic Four movie.
In February of this year, Marvel finally gave the Fantastic Four movie an official name, namely “Fantastic Four”, and confirmed the actors who would play the four superheroes. However, at Comic-Con this week, Marvel decided to give it a new name, but this name is more of an extension than a complete name change: “Fantastic Four: First Steps”. What this subtitle means, I can’t tell you, but I guess it should have something to do with traveling to space or another universe, as the story takes place in a retro-future New York City that is different from the main MCU universe.

Director Matt Shakman said filming will begin next Monday in the UK, but some trailers were released. These trailers are said to include Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Eben Moss-Bachrach as Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing respectively, dressed in astronaut costumes before setting off in a large spaceship, and the last shot is of their main villain, the giant Galactus hovering above the Earth.
It’s worth noting that the Fantastic Four will also appear in the next few Avengers movies. Oh, and if you haven’t heard yet, Avengers 5 finally has a name – Avengers: Doom, and that’s because Doctor Doom is the new big bad of the Marvel Universe… except he won’t be played by who you expect. The Fantastic Four will also appear in Avengers 6 (aka Secret Wars), with Doctor Doom appearing again, with Doom set to hit theaters in May 2026 and Secret Wars the following year in May 2027.
