Arcane is taking over the streaming world once again in a devastating storm. Because that Animated series in the League of Legends universe After the first three episodes of the second season, both his fans and critics invariably described him with praise.
One reason for this is again the wonderful look that a enormously high budget with a unique artistic vision connects. We also saw the consequences of the first act in advance and our LoL expert Elena was completely thrilled. You can read her review right here:
Critics and fans are thrilled
Sure, after the first season, Arcane’s great quality shouldn’t surprise you anymore. But especially with such high expectations, it is often difficult to create real enthusiasm. Especially since there were exactly three years between the two seasons. A very long time to remain emotionally invested.
But Arcane knows all too well how to arouse emotions through images and stories. The story surrounding the conflict between the classes in Piltover and, on a smaller scale, between characters like Sister Vi and Jinx unfolds a wonderfully emotional impact that would have been relevant even if it had been ten years apart. Both critics and fans see it that way. Review sites like Rotten Tomatoes, Imdb or Metacritic speak a clear language:
- Rotten Tomatoes: Season 2 has an outstanding average so far. 100 percent of the reviews from critics were positive, as were 97 percent of the audience reviews.
- Imdb: It’s also very clear on Imdb so far what viewers think of Season 2. Each of the episodes published so far has a viewer ranking of over 9.1 out of 10. Episode 3 even has a total of 9.6.
- Metacritic: Even the site Metacritic, which is usually more dedicated to games, is showing a trend. An average of 9.3 can be derived from the 36 user reviews.

Arcane: In the trailer for season 2, a sisterhood is broken and fans’ hearts are already bleeding
However, keep in mind with the current reviews, that it’s only about the first three episodes. So far, critics haven’t been able to see the entire series and therefore don’t know whether Arcane will come to a satisfying end. And as we all know, this is where the biggest challenge lies with many series, just think of a beloved series like Game of Thrones or Dexter.
Here are a few voices from the reviews:
A video game company invested a ridiculous amount of time and money in what could be considered long-form advertising, creating one of the best animated series ever produced.
– Dylan Roth, Observer
Because of the high cost, it’s unlikely we’ll see anything similar again – at least not in the next few years. Until then, we can continue to appreciate Arcane for the wonder that it is: a true hextech gem in the raw.
– Belen Edwars, Mashable
Arcane Season 2 proves that the long wait was worth it. The first two acts provide a satisfying, if devastating, end to Vi and Jinx’s story, delivering everything we fell in love with the series for.
– Nate RIchard, Collider
