The money-raising campaign that Epic Games started in Fornite has ended in the last few hours. Since it began on March 20, it has not stopped raising millions of dollars to help people affected by the war in Ukraine, reaching an impressive figure: 144 million dollars.
The amount is worth standing up and applauding if we take into account that in the first 24 hours 36 million dollars were raised, from there it went to 50 million dollars in just three days and on March 30 it exceeded the 100 million barrier. dollars, so it is surprising how fast the figure has been growing.
As Epic Games already warned, all the money that has been obtained will be distributed in its entirety to various organizations that offer humanitarian aid, which will be of great help to all the inhabitants of Ukraine. Specifically, it will be divided between Unicef, Direct Relief, World Central Kitchen, UNWFP (United Nations World Food Program), UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency).
We must not forget that at the same time Epic Games is another of the companies that has agreed to completely suspend sales of its games in Russia after the attack it has carried out in recent weeks and for the moment it does not seem that the decision will be restored in the short term.
