Gears 5 arrived on our Xbox and PC in September 2019, becoming one of the best games of the year, but like the previous installment, it aims to maintain a constant number of players thanks to online updates that are bringing new content and news to a game mode that is divided into different proposals for many types of players. Today, from The Coalition have presented the news from the fourth update of Gears 5, which will be published this week, specifically tomorrow, January 21.
To begin, we must talk about the new villain who will arrive at the game. Kantus will be available when the next Gears 5 update is released. If you have purchased the Operation 2: Free For All package, the Kantus will automatically be added to your inventory for free. And if you have not yet purchased the Operation 2 package, the Kantus will be added to the existing package without increasing the price of the package.
The most important changes that are made at the content level in update 4 are related to the Gnasher shotgun and the Icebound map. Changes have been applied to the shotgun that the study details in a post to part, where problems are identified, such as the magnetism of Gnasher's bullets, which was only active at extremely short distances due to a touch-up of the last update, causing less magnetism than usual and making the Gnasher feel more inconsistent. The same problem but accentuated occurred if shot from the hip without aiming. There were also cases where playing with keyboard and mouse derived errors.
In the Gears 5 update 4 these problems related to the Gnasher will be solved. On the other hand, the Icebound map will also receive many modifications, we tell you:
«As avid players – and avid feedback readers – they are constantly thinking about small refinements and improvements that we can make and that will have a great impact on the experience of their maps. They have already made successful improvements to Exhibit, and the next changes that will come are a wide range of improvements in Icebound », they count from The Coalition.
For the icebound map, the general objective of these changes is to provide more ways to counteract the strong positions of tower rifles, which in turn will make the ice lake a more used passage and combat zone than it is today in day.
- Change of arrangement: The roof covering on the top of each tower has been removed. This adds a new vulnerable flank to allow this strong position to be counteracted more easily.
- Changes in the layout of the weapons: The layout of the weapons has been modified to provide more options to counteract the strong positions of the towers and allow players to cross the ice area more easily.
- Blocking: Frag grenades have been removed and replaced by a Dropshot.
- Intermediate ice: The Cryo Cannon has moved to the center of the ice, replacing the original Dropshot location
- Trading Post: The Cryo Cannon has been moved and is now a Shooting Arc.
- Market / Radio: The Boltoks have been replaced by Enforcers.
- Respawn: The incendiary and Shock grenades remain the same.
- King of the Hill: The tower's rings at ground level have moved into the towers where the Enforcer respawn. The players' rings have been updated to adapt to these changes.
- Climbing: Now there are 3 slots for the placement of weapons in the central line with respect to the previous 2. This is on par with the other maps.
