Tonight is the day: The Game Awards 2022 will be the last major event of the gaming year – and that promises a number of new announcements again this time! You can follow the broadcast live here!
Night owls among you have a must today if you are interested in video games. Because: Tonight, like every year in December, the Game Awards will take place again – and thus the most important award ceremony in the games business. Detached from the awards, however, the focus is above all on numerous new announcements and world premieres, of which there will again be quite a few this time – despite the shorter overall duration.
What can you expect from the event? The rumor mill was already packed with possible announcements in the last few days. A release date for Diablo IV is also on the agenda, as is a release date for Street Fighter 6. There could also be one for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
An appearance by Tekken 8 is also guaranteed – and the latest game by Hideo Kojima is also firmly on the agenda. Will it end up being Death Stranding 2?
The following are nominated for the most important award, Game of the Year:
- God of War Ragnarök
- Elder Ring
- A Plague Tale: Requiem
- Horizon: Forbidden West
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3
- Stray
God of War Ragnarök could claim the most nominations with ten, followed by Elden Ring and Horizon: Forbidden West with seven each. So who will be the big winner of the night?
The pre-show starts at 1:30 a.m.; the main event starts at 2:00 am and will be a little shorter than last year. At that time, including the pre-show, almost four hours were due. You can follow the stream right here below. Have fun!
