The Witcher 3 got a huge new-gen patch on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, bringing as many issues as improvements. After all, on the PC, the game is saved and CD Projekt has nothing to do with it. That’s the problem
In rolling out its patch of The Witcher 3 to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, CD Projekt claimed it delved into several community-made mods. The studio that detailed everything in their impressive patch notes and has therefore retouched several popular mods to improve their game’s graphics, modeling or even balancing.
Unfortunately, despite all the efforts made, the patch brought with it a whole bunch of bugs, especially on PC where performance was able to bend the biggest configurations, and despite the release of multiple patches, it still poses some issues today. But again the community came to the rescue.
The Witcher 3 saved to PC by a modder
We owe the feat to modder Alikoko, who successfully developed a small mod that significantly improves PC performance by modifying some ray tracing parameters and optimizing the graphics. However, the modder claims that the ray tracing remains of high quality and that he’s been content to make a few visual concessions elsewhere to compensate. As a result, with an RTX 2060 Super, for example, it is possible to improve its performance by more than 35%, a fairly significant gain. The game is therefore smooth and no longer throws up when the screen is a little busy. Further optimizations of the mod are also expected.
A perfect solution that could save the lives of many players who still cannot fully enjoy their game. The problem is that once again this is a mod and not a definitive and official solution tweaked by the studio.
So anyone interested in this life-saving unofficial patch will have to turn to sharing platforms again to install it the famous mod. And while many players are used to mods, others are completely unfamiliar with them and might miss them altogether, unlike an automatic patch.
However, it is proof that there is still room for improvement The witcher 3 and official patches should therefore (hopefully) be coming soon. In any case, it is certain that CD Projekt is working on the subject and regularly updates the situation on its social networks.
