The January 2023 PS Plus Extra & Premium games have been revealed. Very difficult at the beginning of the year? The program includes narrative, multi and indie.
The three free PS Plus Essential games have been available for a few days. Earlier in the year, Sony hit hard, offering three big games, including Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, which lets subscribers discover the adventures of Cal Kestis ahead of the sequel’s release next March. Now it’s the turn of those who have subscribed to PS Plus Extra and Premium to find out which games will be added to the catalog of the two new formulas.

PlayStation Plus’ new formulas continue to prove themselves. Inaugurated a few months ago, they allow subscribers to benefit from new monthly additions to the catalogue, as with the Xbox Games Pass. If the PS+ Premium is still struggling to impress, failing to fully deliver on its promise centered on the arrival of retro games, the PS Plus Extra has hit hard in recent months. Between the complete Kingdom Hearts, a cult The Elder Scrolls Skyrim or a whole range of strong licenses such as Yakuza or The Shadow of Mordor, Sony inspires subscribers every month. But what exactly is the program of the January 2023 PS Plus Extra? The Japanese publisher finally provides an answer.
Nice surprises awaited PS5 and PS4 players to start the year off right, and it will be all about Square Enix. On the program are Life is Strange, Just Cause, but also Back 4 Blood, a multiplayer game from the creators of Left 4 Dead. Some well-received independent productions will also be available, including Sayonara Wild Hearts and Jett The Far Shore. All will be available for download starting Thursday, January 17th. We also remind in every way that the PS Plus Extra will lose a dozen games from January 15, 2023. We can find in the crowd some very popular titles such as Masters of Anima, Leo’s Fortune, Electronic Super Joy or Enigmatis The Ghosts of Ahornbach.

What about PS Plus Premium? Since its inception, the subscription service’s premium formula has disappointed many players. For them, Sony has repeatedly failed to deliver the promised offer by not adding monthly classics from the PS1, PSP or PS2 era. Indeed, the Japanese giant has tended too much to capitalize on remasters or PS3 games rather than retro titles, as subscribers would rightly expect.
