He’s the star of the hour. Kelvin from Sons of the Forest is not only the biggest innovation of the Survival successor, he also makes the community rave. Not only because he always dumbly carries out every task that we assign to him. Kelvin can also be quite clumsy at times.
But in both cases, this already makes for a lot of entertaining stories in which the NPC is the focus. But now we wanted to know how you deal with Kelvin. Because despite all the love for the companion, it can sometimes get on your nerves.
And Kelvin is not immune to falling victim to your weapons either. Fortunately, there doesn’t seem to be many people in the GameStar community who would actually do that.

Poll result: Kelvin is important to you
In our poll, you could choose three different paths that affect Kelvin. You could use Kelvin to your advantage, you could just ignore him or get rid of him entirely. A total of 6,000 people took part in the survey.
An overwhelming majority has supported Kelvin and stated that they are happy to keep the companion alive and use it. A total of 3,000 of you like the companion.
This gets even more impressive as around 2,000 of you are interested in the fate of Kelvin but don’t actually own the game itself. By the way, only 520 would like to kill Kelvin, even fewer would simply ignore him. The full survey results can be seen here:
A look at the comment area also shows what Kelvin is turning everything off for. At least you mentioned a few of the advantages that Kelvin proves useful for you.
Lolita, for example, emphasizes that he does a good job while you go on a discovery tour yourself:
I go on a journey of discovery and when I come back there is a mountain of tree trunks and I can continue building. When I’m hungry, I let him catch fish for 3 drying racks and I always have enough to eat. I don’t want to miss him anymore.
And if Kelvin does die with you, it sometimes has something to do with his own clumsiness. Just listen to what alea_iacta_est reports:
Started building a tree house. Just before completion Kelvin asked me to help. Kelvin chop down the tree that the treehouse was built on.
Treehouse crashes and lands on Kelvin. Kelvin dead.
Then just built the tree house somewhere else.
It’s stories like this that Kelvin is so celebrated for. Do you have any more stories in which the kind-hearted NPC plays the leading role? Write it in the comments!
