Elden Ring is getting a new, highly anticipated update with numerous menu changes that will do a lot of good, especially for the game as a whole.
After several hours of maintenance, the Elden Ring servers are finally open and FromSoftware has finally deployed its famous patch 1.13 on consoles and PC. While the last updates dealt with the difficulty of the Shadows of the Erdtree DLC, the new one focuses on… EVERYTHING! Yes, in this new update the studio has not spared any resources and in fact the entire game is affected here. Patch 1.13 changes everything, or almost.
A gigantic patch for Elden Ring that affects absolutely everything
Balancing weapons, spells and ash, even skills, has its own value. FromSoftware really wants to smooth out the difficulty as much as possible and that includes re-adjusting the entire gameplay. If there are a few small nerfs here and there, with this new update we are mainly entitled to an avalanche of buffs. From stat and mechanic improvements for weapons to damage adjustments and performance increases for various skills and spells, everything is done to make your job easier and the gameplay more impactful. The ash we use to summon creatures and other warriors to our side is also improved and the chance of staggering is significantly reduced. It’s no longer about witnessing them being mistreated for a yes or no.
Changes exclusive to PvP
We’re also noticing some changes for the PvP portion of the game, with balance changes dedicated solely to that. Significant increases in balance damage from basic attacks for most weapons, or even ease of use of certain equipment… this should literally change everything during your duels. We’ll also see a welcome reduction in the window of invulnerability provided by the Crucible Feather talisman.

A ton of fixes and performance improvements for Elden Ring
Patch 1.13 also includes an astronomical amount of bug fixes and other technical and graphical improvements, as well as gameplay and user experience improvements. Again, FromSoftware hasn’t done things by halves with its new Elden Ring update.
We can mention the correction of bugs that prevented the proper functioning of certain objects. Such as the Spectral Steed’s Whistle, whose control could be blocked, or the Double Blade Talisman, which did not work as it should with the Perfume Bottles. In addition, you can no longer use certain ammunition with weapons that were normally incompatible, such as Great Arrows with a Longbow or Ballista.
Even more annoying, but now fixed, were all the bugs that caused certain spells and other blessings to not apply their bonuses correctly.
In addition, numerous other fixes have been made to the user interface, cutscenes, or the display of information about certain objects.
FromSoftware solutions to improve stability on consoles and PC
Whether on console or PC, the graphics and general technique have been improved thanks to the deployment of several patches and some adjustments here and there. FromSoftware takes the opportunity to remind its players of two tips on PS5 and PC. The first allows you to improve the frame rate on the Sony console and the second allows you to increase stability on the PC. Techniques that have already been shared before and are still relevant today.
Here are the studio’s recommendations in case of a problem with Elden Ring:
- On the PS5 version of the game, the unstable framerate can be improved by using the “Rebuild Database” option in the console’s Safe Mode.
- On PC, ray tracing can be inadvertently activated automatically and lead to instability problems.
- Please check the ray tracing setting under System > Graphics > Ray Tracing Quality and disable it if you have any concerns.
- The message “Inappropriate activity detected” can also appear on the PC without cheating.
- To resolve this issue, please verify the integrity of the game files before restarting the game.
- Even in the PC version, third-party applications that optimize the mouse can cause frame rate drops. Disabling these third-party apps can improve performance.
All these impressive Elden Ring 1.13 patch notes can be found directly on the Official website of Bandai Namco.
As a reminder, Eldne Ring is available for PS5, Xbox Series, PC, PS4, and Xbox One, as is the Shadows in Erdtree DLC.
