Starfield finally welcomes its new patch and it brings with it a change that players have been asking for. This big problem will finally disappear.
Starfield has definitely marked this 2023 with plenty of big releases. So yes, he didn’t win any awards at the 2023 Game Awards, but that doesn’t take away from his stature and big ambitions. Despite this, it still divided players, especially due to the presence of certain persistent bugs that marred the gaming experience. Bethesda doesn’t want to allow that and has therefore released a new patch that will do the game some good.
Starfield releases its new update
We welcome the update 8/1/87
This is a pretty strange technical issue that affected the space flight sequences. In fact, space material could attach itself to the player’s ship and get stuck there. From now on, a simple backup charge will solve this problem. On the other hand, it will always be present when the ship is attached to New Atlantis. Yes, yes, in New Atlantis. So suffice it to say, this really shouldn’t be happening. Apparently we are dealing with a massive bug that will only be fixed in a future update.
That being said, there is an important fix for outposts. For good reason, it sometimes happened in these places that you would load a save, make a new weapon crate, and… not see them appear in it. It’s never pleasant to encounter a bug like this and fortunately, thanks to this patch, it won’t bother you anymore. The Starfield experience should therefore be more enjoyable, although another bug was recently discovered related to a memory leak that could crash the game. Bethesda will have to take care of this shortly, they just have to be patient.
Version 1.8.87 patch notes
Here is the complete list of changes that this update 1.8.87 brings. As we said above, it’s not very big and won’t change Starfield from top to bottom. However, it’s always nice to see the company refining its title based on player feedback.
- Fixed an issue where space matter would get stuck on the player’s ship during space travel. If you load a save now, it will be deleted. Please note: This fix resolves space matter stuck during your journey, but not when ships are attached to New Atlantis. A fix will be implemented in a later update.
- Fixed an issue that prevented random weapons from spawning in a new weapon crate after loading a save game.
- [MSS/Xbox] Fixed an issue where players could experience crashes when saving during a long game session without using Unity.
