Another year on and Fallout: London continues to pick up steam. The Fan Project is a complete mod of Fallout 4, which is scheduled for release in 2023.
Punctually at the end of 2022, the modders published a twelve-minute video on YouTube that shows their current progress. You can watch the clip right here:

Fallout London: The new update video shows the London underground in the fan mod
What’s to see?
Finally real train rides
As the biggest news right at the beginning of the video, the modders show and tell that they have implemented fully working trains, recreating part of the real London underground. You will get on the subway, run around and fight in the moving subway, and of course you will be able to get off at the next stop. No cutscenes or black screens in between. This is unique in the Fallout universe so far.
Of course, while it sounds like the experience of every commuter in Munich, we’re still in fallout – so who knows who or what awaits us in the London underground stations.
The only working train in Fallout 4 is in Nuka Transit World and takes us to Nuka World in a cutscene, which can be purchased as a Fallout 4 add-on. There was freedom of movement but none.
The modders report that their version of trains in the first trailer were implemented as horizontally moving elevators, which are reminiscent of the curious train hats from Fallout 3:

What we already know about Fallout: London
Fallout: London is based on Fallout 4. In the mod we can fight our way through the English capital of London in the apocalyptic Fallout universe of the year 2237. So far all we know about the story is that we wake up as a test subject in an underground research facility. You can find out more about this in this overview article.
