If you’ve been wanting to buy Phasmophobia, you might want to hurry up and do so, as its price is set to increase later this year.

While you don’t hear much about Phasmophobia these days, it’s still going pretty strong. It’s been getting updates pretty consistently over the years, though one thing many have been waiting for is a console version. Well, there’s good news for those who’ve been waiting, because in a recent Steam post, developer Kinetic Games has finally confirmed that console versions will be released this year. “We’re excited to announce that the console update will be releasing this year during our game’s Halloween event,” writes Kinetic Games. “Once available, cross-platform play will be enabled for all players, allowing you to play the latest version of the game with everyone, including those using VR on any platform.”

The team also explained that they are “working with Unity on console versions and general performance optimizations for consoles and PC,” which will “ensure that console updates run optimally and meet the high standards we have set for the game. Partnering with them means we can develop new updates faster by developing new content with them for all platforms. Future updates to the game will be released on all platforms simultaneously to ensure cross-platform play is always possible.”

There is a caveat to this, though – in an FAQ, Kinetic Games said it will be “increasing the price of Phasmophobia to $19.99 on all platforms later this year, which we feel is a reasonable increase given the added content and play time since Early Access.” The game currently costs $13.99, so while the price increase isn’t huge, it could sway players from buying it.

It’s unclear if this price hike will come with the console’s launch, so if you do plan on trying it out on console, you’ll just have to keep your fingers crossed. At least you can finally play with all your PC friends!
