Vaughn was right, there weren’t that many adult-oriented superhero projects at the time, at least not in the movies, as the first one didn’t come out until a few years after the Marvel Universe began. Now, there are shows like The Boys and Invincible to contend with, both of which offer their own take on “what if superheroes were scary and bloody”, so we’ll have to wait and see how Vaughn fares Address this “meta” aspect.
