The recently released new brawler, The King of Fighters XV, is known to be getting 12 new fighters as part of paid DLC packs throughout the year – but now you’ll be getting a free new fighter very soon.
Following the four team packs that you’ll have to shell out for cash, SNK also announced today a first free DLC character for the beat ’em up The King of Fighters XV. This is the Omega Rugal, which will be available from April 14, 2022.
Rugal first appeared as the boss in The King of Fighters ’95 and now returns in the current installment. The deadly arms dealer once ruled the world’s black market and never shied away from sinking his claws into any fighter who dared challenge him. He was brought back to life by the power of Orochi until a group of strong fighters ended his reign. Thanks to Verse’s influence, he is now back in the mortal realm and ready for revenge.
Along with Omega Rugal, a new game mode called “Boss Challenge” will also appear. You can face the Omega Rugal CPU and get access to new content like his special Ω armor, a new location and new music.
In total, there are 13 DLC characters with the already released Team Garou (three characters), Omega Rugal and the next three teams (each with three characters), which will be released later this year. Along with the 39 characters from launch, the game then features a 52-character roster.
The fight game The King of Fighters XV now also gets free DLC supplies on the fighter front.
