When the new Pokémon anime was introduced in November, uncertainty reigned among fans because they didn't know what Ash Ketchum's fate was going to be. Everything calmed down when The Pokémon Company showed both characters, Go and Ash, in the first conceptual arts, confirming that they would star in the adventures in Galar. And this series is winning everyone with winks to the original anime from the first episode, where new details of Pikachu's past were given. Now, they have done it again and there an easter egg that remembers a very emotional moment
As you know, the last episode of Pokémon surprised with a new capture of the young coach. Gengar was giving trouble at the Sakuragai Laboratory and finally Ash got to be his friend. But there are certain parallels with this creature and the Charmander who once saved Ash Ketchum. That heartbreaking moment presented the Pokémon abandoned in very bad conditions. Ash saved him and became Ash's strongest Pokémon, while Gengar is also an abandoned Pokémon. At the end of the episode, Ash wears a Charmander shirt and capture Gengar, referring to that beautiful scene lived in the series. You can see the image of the shirt below.
I do hope people understand why Ash wore a Charmander t-shirt when I caught Gengar
