The US broadcaster HBO wants to land the next hit with the series implementation of The Last of Us and is still working hard on the cast. After the two protagonists, Joel’s brother Tommy has now also been cast.
HBO and Naughty Dog keep going on with the Last of Us series. After Pedro Pascal (“The Mandalorian”, “Game of Thrones”) had been confirmed as Joel and Bella Ramsey (“Game of Thrones”) as Ellie, the actor for the role of Joel’s brother Tommy has now been confirmed.
When the TV series hits the screens, you will see Austin-born actor and producer Gabriel Luna as Tommy. Some of you know Luna best as the Ghost Rider on “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” on ABC. He has also been seen in another well-known HBO series, namely “True Detective”, as well as the Android assassin Rev-9 in the 2019 released “Terminator: Dark Fate”.
Tommy made his first appearance in the original game in the opening chapter; Tommy was featured in both parts of the series. H is personality is in stark contrast to that of the cynical and pessimistic older brother Joel.
Filming for the series is scheduled to start this summer in Calgary, Canada, according to HBO’s plans. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann will serve as co-writer and producer, and Craig Mazin (“Chernobyl”) will also be the producer. The series is essentially intended to take up the story of the first game from 2009.
