It was recently officially announced that the PlayStation hit series The Last of Us will also be implemented as a TV series by the renowned US broadcaster HBO in cooperation with developer Naughty Dog. This series project can now also rely on an important head of the games.

The cooperation with developer Naughty Dog, above all with Neil Druckmann, should alone ensure that the series implementation of The Last of Us by the US broadcaster HBO will meet the high demands of video game fans. Incidentally, HBO itself is not exactly known for bringing cheap and unsuccessful productions onto the market. For a clear plus in atmosphere, which is close to the games, another new addition should now provide the responsible team.
Like Neil Druckmann via Twitter announced that the HBO series will also be able to fall back on the well-known composers of the games. Accordingly, Gustavo Santaolalla will also release his talents for the TV series and provide atmospheric musical accompaniment – just as he does in the approaching The Last of Us: Part II.
Well this is exciting! Beyond lending his incredible musical talent to The Last of Us Part II, Gustavo Santaolalla is joining us to bring over The Last of Us to HBO!

In this respect, Druckmann himself is exuberant and speaks of the "incredible musical talent" that Santaolalla has. He underscored exactly that at the first The Last of Us, in which the famous soundtrack is considered an integral part of the action-based gaming experience. Among other things, that soundtrack has received several awards, including the Spike Video Game Awards, the SXSW Gaming Awards, the National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers Awards and more.
Santaolalla is by no means limited to Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic adventure. The Argentine has been active in the entertainment sector since the late 1960s and has also won two Oscars for "Brokeback Mountain" from 2005 and "Babel" from 2006. Seen in this way, the music of the new HBO series is really in the very best hands.
