The series implementation of the PlayStation blockbuster The Last of Us is known to be progressing well and is expected to start on HBO as early as 2022. In the run-up to the cast of another role was now public.
As Deadline now reported, Storm Reid is also set to star in the HBO series The Last of Us. The actress is best known from “Euphoria” or “A Wrinkle in Time”, but she has also previously appeared in the Netflix hit series “When They See Us” and in “The Suicide Squad”.
In the series based on the post-apocalyptic PlayStation blockbuster from 2013, she is now paired with the main actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. She takes on the role of Riley Abel, which you only know about if you’ve played the Left Behind DLC for the first The Last of Us.
Riley survived in post-apocalyptic Boston and shares a history with main character Ellie before she meets Joel. The appearance of Riley also confirms for the prequel chapter, which seems to play an important role in the series.
Craig Mazin (“Chernobyl”) and Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog are primarily responsible for the implementation. Other confirmed actors in addition to Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey have previously been Anna Torv, Merle Dandridge, Nick Offerman, Nico Parker, Gabriel Luna, Jeffrey Pierce and Murray Bartlett. The pilot episode will be directed by Kantemir Balagov.
