Multiplayer game assets seem to be buried The Last of Us Part 2 Suggest Naughty dog It may be planning to release a battle royale game in the iconic game world.
Content creator Speclizer, a self-proclaimed “modification and exploration” expert, seems to have discovered a large number of multiplayer game assets in The Last of Us Part 2 that point to a battle royale mode made on the same engine. According to their video (below), the most convincing one is a map prop, the creator said it will be used in multiplayer mode.
Other assets—such as listening mode equipment, collars, handheld TVs, and various multiplayer backpacks and armor items—are also found in the file (although the creator cannot restore them all at the time of writing).
The video assumes that Adler Park, Kamarito and Kamarito Port will be smashed together to create a large map that can accommodate a large number of players at once. “It is not mentioned in the video, but in the development shot, there is a compass and a number of players, usually only used in Battle Royale,” Speclizer said in a comment on the video. “Oh, there is also an emoji wheel script.”
As early as before the game’s release in September 2019, we learned that “The Last of Us Part 2” will not feature multiplayer games, but Naughty Dog has always insisted something Will come to fill the gaps.
“As we began to develop our Factions model from The Last of Us, the team’s vision went beyond the additional models that could be included in our massive single-player campaign. To support these two visions, we made difficult choices. That is, The Last of Us Part 2 does not include an online mode.” The developer at the time said.
The statement went on to add that the mode has not been completely cancelled, and Naughty Dog’s team is working hard to release it separately to players.
“When and where it will be achieved remains to be determined,” the studio said. “But rest assured, we are as big fans of Factions as the rest of the community, and we are happy to share more when it is ready.”
