Sony continues to expand its portfolio of PC ports of the Playstation hits and announces The Last of Us: Part II Remastered for PC at the Game Awards. But it was about time.
Sony has finally announced the second part of the mega-epic The Last of Us for the PC, based on the remastered version. The Last of Us: Part II Remastered will finally be released on April 3, 2025.
Interesting: after the lousy port of the first part by Iron Galaxy, which suffered from many technical problems, Sony seems to have commissioned Nixxes to do the port this time, at least according to the information on the Game's Steam page. Nixxes has already delivered a whole package of excellent ports, including the Spider-Man and Horizon titles. So it is to be hoped that The Last of Us II for PC will be much better than its predecessor.
The package includes the roguelike mode No Return, and the game will also receive the usual batch of graphical revisions, which will certainly include widescreen formats, upscalers and a lot more. It has already been confirmed that the game will have full support for the DualSense controller.
A quick reminder of what it's about (according to the Steam page): “Five years after their perilous journey through the pandemic-stricken USA, Ellie and Joel have settled in Jackson, Wyoming. Life in a thriving community of survivors has helped them Peace and stability granted – despite the constant threat of infected people and other desperate survivors. When a brutal event disrupts this peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to bring justice and closure.”
Development studio Naughty Dog has also announced its own new title. In Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the developers are now sending you into space.
