Kenobi is coming to an end. So with Season 1 of the latest Star Wars series, not the character itself. In fact, the chances are not bad that Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen will return for a second season. But let’s stay with episode 5 for now. The current episode quotes another fan favorite: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
We’ll explain to you in a moment what exactly this is all about. But be warned of spoilers from this point on! Because of course we explicitly go into the events of the fifth episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi. If you are not yet up to date: Just take a look at our overview of all upcoming Star Wars series.

Still here? Alright. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. In episode 5 of Kenobi, Obi.Wan and Darth Vader confront each other again. Although that’s not entirely true: it would have happened if Kenobi hadn’t perfidiously outmanoeuvred his former student. Because although Reva was able to corner the refugees, the Sith Lord Obi-Wan, Leia and Co. slipped through the cracks.
The decisive factor was a scene in which Darth Vader was once again able to demonstrate his abilities: when a transporter of refugees tried to take off, grabs the vader with the forceforces him to the ground and rips the ship’s hull to pieces – only to find that doing so is a distraction for the right
Transporter served.
Episode 5 of Kenobi, of course, alludes to Episode 6 – Return of the Jedi, when Luke, under Yoda’s watch, tries to free his X-wing from the swamps of Dagobah. But it’s also an homage to the 2008 video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

In case you don’t remember: The Force Unleashed is set by Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, Galen Starkiller
Marek, with the help of which he tries to deceive the Emperor. At least that’s what Vader initially leads us to believe. As The Force Unleashed progresses, Marek becomes more and more powerful, eventually even force grabbing an Imperial Star Destroyer from orbit.
An impressive scene that even made it into the official promotional material and had fans discussing whether Starkiller was a little too powerful – and one that definitely stuck in our minds, as you can also see in the following video:

Of course, The Force Unleashed isn’t part of the new Star Wars canon. However, the fact that those responsible for new films, series, comics or games also bow to older works set in the Star Wars universe is also nothing new. For example, in season 2 of The Mandalorian, which clearly quotes the Bioware role-playing game KotOR in episode 1:

Season 2, Episode 1 pays homage to the role-playing classic KotoR
