Eric “Follow the Ape” Baron released a new update Stardew Valley On the PC, it contains some important technical changes, quality of life changes, and some bug fixes for module makers.
For modules, update 1.5.5 includes architectural changes. Basically, the update migrates the game from XNA (.NET 4.5.2) to MonoGame (.NET 5), which will make the game “future-proof”, allowing modules to access more than 4GB of RAM. Various internal changes have also been made for mod authors.
Some quality of life changes include the ability to purchase craft stacks of up to 25 items at a time. Now the settings default to the settings when the game was last saved when a new save was created. You can move or build farm buildings to artifact points, and you can now buy them back in Any item that is accidentally sold during the same shopping process.
You can also expect some localization, appearance and general fixes
There is also a 1.5.6 update in the work, which will add more module support to the game, including some “long-term required’Holy Grail’ changes”, which will make certain aspects of module production easier in the future. ConcernedApe and other members of his team are working with PathosChild, the creator of the popular modification tool SMAPI, to help accomplish this task.
According to the blog post, there may also be some new content in 1.5.6, but ConcernedApe said “it will not be as big as 1.5.” It adds a new island, split-screen co-op and missions.
Since its first release in 2016, “Stardew Valley” has sold more than 15 million copies on all platforms, and its creator is developing a new game called Haunted Chocolatier. Little is known about it, only that it will “explore more fantasy possibilities” and feature haunted castles and ghosts. We can also expect it to be “positive, uplifting and positive for life.”
Haunted Chocolatier is not the only game being developed by ConcernedApe. As early as 2020, he revealed that he is developing two new games, but there is still a long way to go before completion.
