In the run-up it was probably the greatest hope of most Nintendo fans, and they were not disappointed: At the end of E3-Direct, Nintendo finally showed new material from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and also commented on the release period .
It’s now been two years since Nintendo announced a sequel to the blockbuster The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at E3 2021. Since then it has been quiet about the successor, but for this year’s E3 there was finally news again.
To the delight of many Zelda fans, Nintendo presented a fresh teaser clip with first impressions of the game. In the video, Link explores a completely new region of Hyrule that has not yet been seen: the skies of Hyrule. New weapons and skills were also demonstrated.

Last but not least, they also commented on the release date: Unfortunately, there will be nothing more this year, but fans should have only hoped that in their wildest dreams anyway. In any case, it is now clear: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will be released in the coming year 2022. However, Nintendo did not want to commit to a specific period or even an exact date.
The first The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released in 2017 for Switch and Wii U and has therefore been a few years under its belt. So it is definitely time for the sequel.
