For Zelda fans, this year with the release of Tears of the Kingdom is already a great thing, but apparently the current Switch part is not the last positive news about the long-standing franchise. Nintendo could therefore announce another Zelda project in 2023.
A renowned insider and leaker makes the hearts of Zelda fans beat faster, because according to him there should be fresh information about Nintendo’s successful franchise in the current year 2023.
What is meant is Jeff Grubb, who is considered to be well connected and regularly hits the mark with his information. If he is right this time too, another Zelda project could be officially announced this year that is not related to the current The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, so it does not have any DLC as its subject.
In the podcast The Last of the Nintendogs Grubb recently commented not only on a possible remaster of Metroid Prime 2, but also said: “Something unrelated to Tears of the Kingdom is happening w ith Zelda later this year.”
In the past there have been rumors about HD remakes of the classics The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the switch. When asked whether one of these games could be meant, he said that he had no further information about what it was about. Even the fact that Nintendo could move away from the plans communicated to it cannot be ruled out.
After all, he added that if an announcement was made later in the year, a release of the project at the beginning of next year would be conceivable. In any case, it is certain “that something will happen”. In the same podcast, he predicted a new Nintendo Direct for September; this could be scheduled around the Nintendo Live event in Seattle from September 1st to 4th – a good time for some fresh Zelda news? We will keep you up to date!
