Recent The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdoms data seems to suggest that we can expect to see some new amiibo in the future.
Back in February, when the second big trailer for Tears of the Kingdom was released, in addition to the collector’s edition, we also got a glimpse of Link’s new amiibo, showing off his fancy new arms. So far, we haven’t heard of any other amiibo being released, although there are plenty of new characters that could be used to craft them – but recent data mining certainly makes it look like there are at least a few more amiibo on the way, especially since some of the Glider fabric not found in the main game.

In Kingdom Tears you can now change the fabrics that make your glider, there are a lot of fabrics found in the game itself, and some that are exclusive to certain Zelda amiibo (we even have a nifty guide that tells you What are all the amiibo unlocked). As documented by YouTuber Lootward, several fabrics are not found in any amiibo currently available (thanks Eurogamer).
The fabrics are called Princess Zelda and King Grudo, respectively, with the former looking similar to the new outfit Zelda wears for most of the game, and the latter featuring Grudo’s design. Fansite Universo Zelda reports that these two fabrics are associated with amiibo IDs 1049 and 1050, which means they will be next in line for the new Tears of the Kingdom Link amiibo with ID number 1048. All of this adds up to a good chance that we’ll see some Zelda and Ganondorf amiibo in the future.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Kingdom Tears gets more amiibo, as Breath of the Wild also did release four major champions after launch, bundled with the game’s Song of Champions DLC. But with no Nintendo Direct scheduled for this Not-E3 season, who knows when they might announce it.
