The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Details on resolution and frame rate known

In two weeks, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be available for the Switch. A few technical details about the game have now been made public in advance.

Even if the new Zelda will be released shortly: some details have not yet come to light. This also includes the question of how The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom actually looks from a technical point of view. However, there is now fresh information in this regard.

The visual performance of Link’s new adventure should therefore be in the expected range. In short: Essentially, you will be able to expect what Breath of the Wild technically distinguished several years ago in the new Switch part. From a technical point of view, not too much has changed, at least in terms of the key data, even after six years of development.

What does that mean specifically? How Nintendo World Report and Nintendo Life report, the resolution of the new Zelda will be identical to that of Breath of the Wild and will be 1600 x 900 pixels, i.e. 900p. The frame rate, on the other hand, is 30 fps, so technically the game will make a fairly unremarkable appearance. Even those who use the newer OLED model of the Switch will not notice any changes compared to previous Switch consoles.

Many fans should at least hope that the performance of the new potential blockbuster will be more stable overall. With its extensive landscapes, Breath of the Wild sometimes had to deal with frame rate problems, which hopefully will not be repeated in Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch.
