Thanks to the power of Fuse, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features one of the best moments of the original animated Zelda series.
A few game spoilers ahead!
Before I was born, the 1989 Zelda animated series was perhaps one of the best TV productions of all time. Is the technology good? No! But Link’s desire for Zelda is incredible, and it’s hilarious to keep trying to get a kiss from the iconic princess every time, especially when someone decides to make it his catchphrase. The thing about this show, though, is that it shows Link doing weird things like Bounce off bombs with his shield
Every new ability in Tears of Kingdoms lets you do something ridiculous, and Fuse is no exception. For those who don’t know how Fuse works, it essentially lets you combine any interactable object with your sword or shield to spawn something new. Sometimes it’s a genius idea, sometimes not so much. One would think that strapping a bomb flower to your shield would obviously kill you, but lafonfrede on Reddit has taken the lead in proving that anything is worth trying once.

As you can see in the video above, this combo is actually quite productive as it fires Link off the side of a small cliff – so it definitely has some use! Obviously, it’s not Breath of the Wild’s bomb trick that gets you flying across the map, but it’s a start.
It just tells you that there is no right way to play Tear of Kingdoms, proving that creativity can lead to some positive results, even if it sometimes feels like cheating (something the developers themselves love to do).
