Even though The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom runs pretty smoothly overall, a few bugs have crept in. Nintendo has already released a number of updates for the open-world adventure in the past, and the next patch, version 1.2.0, is now available for download.
The avid Hyrule heroes among you will have noticed that Patch 1.2.0 for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for download. Last night Nintendo released the update that fixed some minor bugs. But problems that caused progress in the main quest to stagnate are also a thing of the past.

A rather curious innovation concerns the news channel of the Nintendo Switch. If you eagerly click through here, you may receive items in Tears of the Kingdom. However, they are linked to story progress.
Below are the full patch notes. A note on this, while not explicitly mentioned, Nintendo has once again terminated the current item duplication glitches.
Generally
- Players can obtain some in-game items from certain items via “What’s New” in the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu.
- Depending on how advanced the game is or where the player is at the moment, certain items cannot be obtained.
Additional bug fixes
- Fixed a bug that prevented the player from completing the following quests at certain points:
- Main Quests: “The People Underground”, “Mystery of the Wreath Ruins”
- Episodes: “Research Institute in Hateno”, “Angelstedt’s Rebirth”
- Shrine Tasks: “Turn white into black”
- Side Quests: “A Village Full of Monsters”, “The Unfinished Shelter”, “Searching for the Pirate Hideout”
- After installing the update, the affected players can resume their game progress.
- Fixed an issue where fairies weren’t spawning where they should.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the offered dishes in Angelstedt from changing.
- Fixed several bugs that improve the gameplay experience.
