If you played and beat the Champion’s Ballad DLC breath of the wildyou might find something small and special in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Spoilers for Breath of the Wild DLC and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

When the DLC for Breath of the Wild was announced, many fans were excited about how the world and story would expand. But some were a bit disappointed as it mostly fleshed out the champion’s backstory, which is something I personally like because it helps inform what kind of people they are. However, one of the best touches comes after you beat the DLC, as the final cutscene shows the champions posing for a photo together. Then you’ll find this picture hanging in Link’s house in Hateno, which is a pretty good sign that you’ve done it – turns out, if you’ve beaten the DLC, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom knows, and will Show the same photo in that exact house.

Anyone who managed to reach Hateno in Tears of the Kingdom will know that the house now belongs to Zelda (makes sense, since most Hylians live there now). I wondered if the house would still exist in Tears of the Kingdom, so I went there early to check it out and was pleasantly surprised to find a picture of the champions together.

With and without photos.

The only reason I know the photo isn’t there is because my partner is also playing the game, but there is currently no save of her beating the champ ballad. They were very disappointed to see that the photo wasn’t there, but when I shared that I was glad to see it there, she was surprised because she didn’t see it. For those who did play the DLC, here’s a nice touch!

This isn’t the only thing in Tears of Kingdoms that transfers over from your save file. You can also import your horses from Breath of the Wild, which is another highlight of how I fell in love with my horses in the first game.

Now all players need to do is start believing the game exists so they can see it for themselves.
