With the latest release The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom In the trailer, Nintendo updated the official website of the game, roughly determining the starting location of the game.
For the most part, Nintendo has been pretty vague about exactly what’s going on in Kingdom Tears, and its trailer doesn’t make the sequence of events particularly clear. Last month we saw some gameplay that was clearly early in the game, and it didn’t start right either. But after the third and final trailer was released recently, Nintendo added some new information to the game’s website, confirming that Link will start his adventure on one of the new sky islands.
“Link begins his journey on one of the many mysterious floating islands that suddenly appear above Hyrule,” the website reads. “Before returning to the surface world to begin his epic adventure, our hero must acquire new abilities there.” Players have been wondering if Link will start on the already shown main island, where the game demo is based. Taking place on the island, as a new version of the Great Plateau in Breath of the Wild, seems to suggest this will be the case.
Earlier this week, an ad for Tears of Kingdoms leaked early, showing off something that hasn’t been seen elsewhere. First off, we’ve confirmed that the three-headed dragon we’ve seen multiple times is Gleeok, an enemy dating back to the first game. We took another brief look at an underground area we’d only seen once before. Interestingly, Koroks also seem to be making a comeback, as spotted by a fan on Reddit, collecting all 900 again for good luck (thanks IGN).
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 12.
