You might not be the only one obsessed with Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom, and it turns out he owes his styling to a designer who truly loves him.
Look: Ganondorf is hot. Always have been and always will be. Yes, he has a bad temper, but who among us doesn’t like a bad boy? From the very first trailer for Tears of the Kingdom, we knew Ganondorf would return in some form, and everyone was quick to call him Dehydrated Ganon. Everyone wanted him to rehydrate in some shape or form – and then the game’s final trailer, showing us Ganondorf in full power (and bare chest), was, yes, everyone was dying to get. As it turns out, we have a specific designer to thank for a job well done.
In an interview with The Verge, The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma and game director Hidemaru Fujibayashi opened up about all aspects of The Legend of Zelda, and ended the interview by bluntly asking why this version of Zelda “Nong” is so attractive. According to Fujibayashi, this is thanks to Ganon’s lead character designer. “For Ganon, the design really started with Twilight Princess,” Fujibayashi said.
“There is a staff [Satoru Takizawa] Responsible for Ganon’s design since Twilight Princess, Ganon holds a very special place in this employee’s heart [laughing]”
“Because this employee was a veteran of the franchise, he was able to really take into account the needs of the entire team. A part of this person really sealed in their design what they love about Ganondorf” has done in the past. But when I made that request for Ganon to really be what he is – and because this time the spotlight is on him, he’s really a vital, integral character – I distinctly remember the look in the man’s eyes. The light was just as they heard it. ”
Guys, you’ve done it, and you can give Takizawa your compliments (please do so mentally). Now we just need to know who designed the Purah, it is clear that everyone is craving Purah.
