Hyrule is one of those imagined paradises in the form of magical-epic territory that we like to enjoy so much in one of our favorite RPG sagas such as The Legend Of Zelda. No one knows exactly where is it or how is it for sure (although there are fans who imagine him glittering in sneakers), except perhaps the developers, mandmases from the Nintendo franchise, our dear Link and, of course, Her Royal Highness Princess Zelda.
Obviously there is a general consensus about what Hyrule is a territory that exists by itself, although it may be connected or adjacent (physically or metaphysically) to other places and planes of reality such as Altarea, Termina, The Kingdom of Twilight, Lorule, World of the Minish
In this way we find terms such as Kingdom of Light, Land of Spirits, the Great Sea and others, which serve to give names to "different" Hyrule according to the Zelda timeline in which we find ourselves. This does not necessarily mean that it is not the same Kingdom of Hyrule, but it does not mean that they cannot be completely different locations, framed in a very concrete reality. So the Hyrule of Breath of the Wild It may be the same one we found in Twilight Princess, but modified by Over time and the beating of a Great War on the already devastated terrain.
With a magical, mystical and mysterious place like Hyrule, Nintendo benefits from building each of the franchise titles, making players have to dive into the location to understand the history and, incidentally, you can leave succulent clues that connect games or temporary arcs to each other, such as the Ganon pierced by a sword which can be seen in the Breath of the Wild 2 trailer.
There is no doubt that this mysterious veil of mist over Hyrule it is what keeps this magical land as one of the most important references in video games and although it cannot be specified its nature and place it in specific and unique coordinates, will continue to be the ideal canvas to give color and shape to Link and Zelda's adventures, inviting us to dream, imagine, build and theorize about a reality that escapes, but at the same time is so close.
