The new LDLC OL Jungler talks to us about its goals for 2021, its adaptation to its new team and its recruitment.
The competitive French League of Legends scene is in turmoil with the new season of the French League of LoL kicking off at 7 p.m. tonight. 10 teams will compete against each other, including the newcomers BDS Esport and Karmine Corp, who will compete for the title of the best team in the country and to qualify for the European Masters.
Among the 10 teams, LDLC OL is one of the teams with the highest expectations: full palms, members with international influence … his jungler Stphane Manaty Dimier joined the LFL at the age of 17 after joining the Solary team. He stayed with the team until the end of the 2020 season and was then inducted into the prestigious LDLC OL structure for the 2021 season. He tells us about this new beginning.
My goal is to win the LFL and the EU Masters as the EUM offers a lot of visibility to possibly go to the LEC later.
iGamesNews: How are you feeling the day before your first game of the season?
Stphane Manaty Dimier : A bit of stress, but at the same time a bit excited about resuming the competition, because still a few months that I expect. Joining LDLC is a fresh start.
How was your recruiting at LDLC OL?
I had been in contact with Lounet, the manager of LDLC, since 2018. At that time I had also spoken to YellOwStaR. I knew they wanted me from the first split of 2020 because Tynx already had offers in LEC at SK Gaming that wanted to hire him. As soon as LDLC contacted me about the off-season, I discussed it and joined them.
Why did you choose her?
I had a lot of offers in the off season but I came to LDLC because they sent some players to LEC. Additionally, many players who went through LDLC have gone to LEC for a while. It was my main criterion.
Have you received offers for other leagues?
Yes, but I’d rather not say which …
How did you find your place on the team? Did you adapt quickly?
has gotten a little small. I’ve made my new life; It’s a different environment than Solary, but not that much. I had my apartment at Solary and I have that in Lyon too, because we are not in a game house. I’ve started getting on well with the players and I’m doing very well.
What is your pre-season training program?
It’s pretty much the same as what I had on Solary in terms of scrims [matchs amicaux] : We do it five six days a week, 45 hours a day. Specifically, we generally do scrims at 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. or 8 p.m.
By adding the analysis and the parts on the ladder a full schedule was created. Do you have a technique to keep this rhythm throughout the season?
I have no real technique because I rarely take breaks, whether in play or in life. I try to stay motivated in all situations, whether I’m winning or losing and whether it’s Solo Tail or Competitive. I try to stay as motivated as possible and that’s how I manage to keep this rhythm.
Do you only communicate with Dan in French Dan?
In fact it depends on moments. I speak English when I go upstairs with Dan, but I speak French when I go to the middle or botlane. In the middle and late game, however, we mix English and French.
We know Dan understands when we speak French to him, but when he wants to say something it’s complicated to think about what he wants and react to what’s happening on the screen. We have no problem speaking English as it is more intuitive for the majority of players.
I never look at the real level of my opponents because I know that in the LFL I am not among the players I face.
How do you see the jungler’s role this season?
I don’t think there have been a lot of big changes, not even from the previous season for the junglers. There weren’t any changes to the XP or the jungle gold medals, the camp respawns timers … so I think we’ll be sticking to a similar meta last year, it’s – say, a meta more axis farming in the Jungle for the moment anyway. Maybe that will change later.
You have joined a team that already has great palm trees but also high expectations. Was that extra pressure on you?
A little, yes, since the LDLC have already won the LFL and the EU Masters … but that’s exactly what motivates me because I tell myself if the team has done it before, we can do it again. .
You start the LFL by competing against the defending champions Misfits Gaming. How do you mentally prepare for it?
I haven’t really prepared myself mentally. I don’t know how to explain a I hardly see the level of the players in their faces: I already know that the level of the LFL is higher than in previous years. Even globally, I never look at the real level of my opponents because I know that in the LFL I am not among the players I face. I’m not really afraid of it.
How is the LFL at a higher level than last year?
This is particularly due to the fact that there are many good international players who have joined the league this year. [comme beansu, chez GamersOrigin]and some former LEC players who also joined the league this year [comme Innaxe, aussi chez GO].
Is there one particular jungler you’re looking forward to this season?
I would say Djoko ! Because he was with LDLC in the past and is now with Solary while I was silent before.
What are your goals this season?
My goal is to win the LFL and the EU Masters as the EUM offers a lot of visibility to possibly go to the LEC later.
As a player, have you set yourself other goals?
I have also set individual goals for the Tail Solo. This year I would ideally like to reach ranks 1 and 2 on the ladder at the same time. I don’t think any player outside of the LEC has done this yet and I would love to be the first [Manaty a dj atteint le rang 1 en aot dernier].
The LEC, the European league, is one of the four most important leagues in the world. @ Riot Games
If not, are you planning the LEC?
Yes totally! I followed her pretty much last year, but I also missed a few games. But this year I’m going to try to see the LEC-DJ a lot to improve myself in the game as it helps me and also because there are players that I appreciate in the game and that I want to develop. Especially Jezu and Vetheo … Blue too, even if I don’t really know him, but mainly because they all speak French.
A team that can’t wait to see the game?
G2! There was the switch to Botlane in ADC that I really want to see to see how they’re going to handle it. I’m very excited about your game.
Do you think Rekkles’ arrival will be a good thing for G2, or could it go wrong?
I think it could go very well or very badly at first, but I think in the long run it will be very positive. There are some very talented and intelligent players out there so I’m not worried about them in the long run.
