The 5 episodes of season 2 directly tie in with the events of the premiere in January 2021. For all those who can no longer remember season 1 exactly, we are recapitulating the most important events and moments and summarizing them.
Assane Diop wants to take revenge on Hubert Pellegrini
Master thief Assane Diop (Omar Sy) lives in France today, but the crook is inspired by the novel character Arsène Lupine for his raids. As a child, Assane devoured Lupine novels and emulated his great role model in many ways – for example in the clever disguises or the dizzying thefts full of pretenses and twists …
Assane is targeting the super-rich Hubert Pellegrini (Hervé Pierre), who is responsible for the death of his father.
Hubert Pellegrini does not shy away from murder either
The evil Pellegrini is involved in illegal arms deals, but the influential industrialist doesn’t shy away from murder either: In Part 1 of “Lupine”, he has his assistant Leonard (Adama Niane) murdered journalist Fabienne Bériot (Anne Benoît), who worked with Assane .
The cunning Leonard later turns out to be a dangerous adversary: When Assane drives a train with his family consisting of ex-girlfriend Claire (Ludivine Sagnier) and son Raoul (Etan Simon) at the end of Part 1, he can initially shake off Pellegrini’s assistants. But in the small coastal town of Étretat, where a lupine convention invented for the Netflix series is taking place, son Raoul suddenly disappeared – Leonard kidnapped him.
With the kidnapping, the evil Pellegrini wants to lure Lupine out of cover – and the trailer for “Lupine” Part 2 also heralds a major confrontation.
Assane’s identity is revealed
Pellegrini’s daughter Juliette (Clotilde Hesme), who loves Assane, also dealt the master thief a heavy blow in Part 1: Convinced of her father’s innocence, she reveals Assane’s true identity to him.
And the policeman and Lupine fan Youssef Guedira (Soufiane Guerrab) also finds out about Assane in the course of Part 1. Mocked by his colleagues, he realizes the influence Lupine had on Assane’s actions. In the coastal town of Étretat, where Raoul is kidnapped, the policeman stands across from Assane at the end of Part 1 and addresses him as “Lupine”.
An excerpt from “Lupine” Part 2 published in advance by Netflix shows how Youssef and Assane jointly pursue Raoul’s kidnapper Leonard – but can a police officer and a thief work together permanently?
Assane’s story has only just begun in “Lupine”
The streaming service Netflix already has a 3rd part of “Lupine” confirmed. The so famous and sympathetic crook series will continue! Basically the only question that remains is whether there is part 3 will revolve around villain Hubert Pellegrini – or whether Assane Diop will take on even more powerful adversaries in future adventures …
