New World Aged Wood | How to Improve Logging Level
Aged wood comes from large, mature trees. If you try to cut down smaller trees, you will only get green wood, but this is what your lanky hero can do in the first place.
Mature trees require a logging level of 50 or higher before they can be felled and aged wood can be harvested. The disadvantage is that it is a bit difficult to get there.
Unlike other skills in the new world, increasing your logging level will not unlock anything new or exciting until you reach level 50. Just cut down the young trees before the level is high enough.
Make sure to make one or five sturdy axes to simplify the process. On the bright side, you won’t be short of camp crafting materials for the time being.
New World Aged Wood | Where to Find Old Wood
You have the opportunity to find the location of aging wood in almost every forest. They are hard to miss and are obviously bigger and thicker than other trees. They also take longer to cut down, so you will pass the axe faster.
Getting a better axe will increase the aged wood you get for your troubles. The first time you need it is during the Lumberjack mission in the New World. After that, you can turn the aged wood into wood or use it in other crafting recipes.
