a new trailer The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Already released, it relates to the game’s story.
The game tells the story of Gollum’s untold adventures in search of the Ring of Power, which he affectionately calls his treasure.
This original story takes you to various locations in Middle-earth where you meet well-known characters from JRR Tolkien’s books.
Based on the trilogy that needs no introduction, the game tells the story of Gollum’s journey behind the scenes in the first chapter of The Lord of the Rings.
After losing the ring to Bilbo Baggins deep in the Misty Mountains, Gollum decides to leave his cozy cave and embark on a dangerous journey to find his precious ring.
He was eventually captured by Sauron’s army and tortured in the dungeons of Barad-dur, where he revealed that Bilbo of the Shire possessed the One Ring. After being freed by Sauron and his minions, Gollum was captured by Aragorn and Gandalf. After interrogating him about the Lord of the Rings, Gollum was placed under the watchful eye of the Wood Elves in the kingdom of Mirkwood.
Barad-dur and Mirkwood are just two of the locations you’ll travel through in the game, as poor creatures whose bodies and minds have been twisted by centuries of possession of the Lord of the Rings.
To survive your journey through Middle-earth, you’ll use Gollum’s cunning to avoid danger by sneaking and climbing. But, you also have to deal with your Stoor ego (Stoor is an early Hobbit), Smeagol. It’s up to you whether you want Gollum to have the upper hand when it comes to important decisions, or Sméagol to take over.
The game was originally slated for a fall 2022 release, but was pushed back to 2023 without a firm release date. Once available, you’ll be able to pick it up for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
