After Persona 3 Reload, Atlus is taking on a new challenge with the studio’s first role-playing game. Expected since 2017, it is finally appearing
ATLUS has decided to make 2024 its year. The release of Persona 3 Reload and rumors about possible remakes or remasters, prove that the publisher still has something in his pocket. However, there is more to it than Persona. ATLUS is also known for titles like Shin Megami Tensei or Catherine. In 2024 he will finally return with a new game. “Nouveau” isn’t really the right term. The studio has actually revived a project that we thought had long been forgotten: Project Re Fantasy.
Not Persona 6, but a nice surprise!
Remember: It was back in 2017 when the studio started teasing Project Re Fantasy. However, it wasn’t until last year that he resurfaced at the Summer Games be reborn under the name Metaphor ReFantazio. Accompanied by a trailer, it presented itself as the first role-playing game from Studio Zero (an Atlus structure), developed by an outstanding trio: director Katsura Hashino (Persona 5, 3, 4), character designer Shigenori Soejima and composer Shoji Meguro . However, at this point we didn’t have a specific release date. However, Atlus recently changed the game.
During a livestream of Metaphor: ReFantazio, the director of Studio Zero had the opportunity to reveal thirty minutes of the game and introduce the various aspects. Suffice it to say that we clearly see the handwriting of these great gentlemen of the Persona license. More important, however, was the announcement of the release date: October 11, 2024 on Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PS5, PS4 and PC via Steam. That’s not all ! Pre-orders for physical editions (Standard and Collector) are also possible. For digital pre-orders, you will have to wait a little longer to find out the availability date.
What does the Collector’s Edition contain?
Metaphor ReFantazio isn’t kidding about the physical edition of his collection. Pre-ordering the base software already offers many in-game benefits (e.g. currency), but the collector’s item goes even further. If we rely on the short-term offer from Amazon Germany, the price should be $149.99. However, we are still waiting for pre-orders to open in France.
