news culture The Mandalorian: Anyone who wants to understand Season 3 is forcing Disney+ to watch before another Star Wars series!
The best Star Wars series has just continued with the release of the first episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 on Disney+. However, it is possible that more than one viewer will be lost at the beginning of this first episode. With good reason: you have to have seen another Star Wars series to understand this new season.
Mando and Grogu are back
Great joy for Star Wars fans since March 1st with the release of the first episode of The Mandalorian Season 3. If you don’t have a sufficient dose of Pedro Pascal after watching weekly episodes of The Last of Us, you can take more each week on Disney+. Mando and Grogu are back, much to our delight, still led by the prolific duo of Jon Favreau/Dave Filoni.
Until April 19th, viewers will have the opportunity to discover this new season, which aims to explore the origins of the Mandalorians and further develop the father-son relationship between our two protagonists. But yeah, finding them reunited so quickly must seem odd to viewers who stopped at season two. Explanations.
Keys to understanding hidden in another Star Wars series
A little reminder from the end of Season 2 (beware of spoilers if you haven’t made it that far), Din Djarin and Grogu broke up at the end of the last episode. After the Mandalorian removed his helmet, he could no longer claim to be part of his clan. For his part, the little green man needed to perfect his mastery of the Force. Fans then found an emblematic character from the original trilogy: Luke Skywalker, who met our duo to take Grogu under his wing.
Separated, however, the two protagonists are immediately reunited at the beginning of Season 3. To understand this script twist, we then have to look to another Star Wars series. This is how their reunion is staged at the end of The Book of Boba Fett. The problem is that Disney never explicitly made the connection between the two series. Only those who have seen The Book of Boba Fett can understand the why and how. A rather frustrating situation, which nevertheless allows to leave more room for the immediate actions of this new season, instead of dealing with small events.
